Course Description:
IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, now at Revision A published July 2006, is the first industry consensus standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation. Classes of products are defined and include criteria for Target, Acceptable, Process Indicator and Defect conditions to support the collection of visual quality acceptability requirements for each class. These criteria are supported by 599 full-color illustrations.
Objective:
Upon Successful completion of this learning activity, Instructors will be certified to conduct Operator “Applications Specialist (CIS) certifications and re-certifications.
Instructors will obtain the knowledge to:
Interpret the differences between Class 1,2,and 3 products
Reference the IPC/WHMA 620A standard to make accept/reject decisions
Proficiently conduct Operator courses per IPC requirements
Correctly interpret and teach the intent of the IPC/WHMA 620A standard
Explain the IPC terminology and their definitions
Successfully pass the Instructor’s exam @ 80% or better
